EducationI am a recent Indiana University graduate. I graduated in May of 2015 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Spanish! While at IU I was in a service fraternity "Alpha Phi Omega" dedicated to serving the community of Bloomington. I also earned my EMT Certification while in Bloomington.
I am in the process of applying to medical school! I would like to go IU School of Medicine. However, while applying, I am teaching high school biology and zoology at my local high school. I teach mainly freshmen and really enjoy it! I have a classroom pet named "Kaa" - he is a 2.5 year old ball python who is very sweet and likes to sleep while the students hold hin.
ExperienceI have been tutoring all levels of Spanish for a DECADE! I took both AP and IB Spanish and scored very well. I'm very passionate about Spanish - it's not just school to me. I've traveled to Peru, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico as well as lived in Alcalá de Henares, Spain twice. I enjoy helping students both learn the basic principles of Spanish as well as instill part of passion for Spanish in them.
I have since gone back to Spain to spend more time studying in my town outside of Madrid. I've lived with the same host family and have grown so close to them that I returned home with one of my host siblings for them to experience life here in America.
When I tutor in Spanish, I try to instill a passion into my students. I try to take the most complicated parts of the language and break them down into easy, digestible portions.
As a neuroscience major, I've taken many science courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and neuroscience. I'm currently teaching high school biology and zoology but will be teaching a brand new course "Introduction to Neuroscience" next year!
I have also tutored students in math as well as helped with English such as writing papers, digesting novels, etc.
HobbiesI have applied to numerous medical schools and am in the waiting process right now! In the summers I volunteer at a free clinic in my town as a Spanish translator. I also work at University Hospital in Indianapolis in the radiology department. This past summer I was a reading/writing tutor at an elite tutoring center, Lindamood-Bell, that specializes in creating the magic of learning.
I have three younger siblings - 7, 9, and 13 years old. We like Disney movies and playing Heads Up!

Nick is dependable, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. His tutoring sessions and help via texting have been a great help. We are already seeing positive results.
Nick is great! My son has had several different tutors throughout his elementary school years, but Nick may be the first one who has made him smile and say " next time we work together....."
